Green Brook Flood Control Project Segment C1

Carbro’s work featured 1,100 LF of concrete flood wall, levee and stormwater pumping station adjacent to NJ Transit operating rail. The Project also included a complex and time sensitive operation whereby Carbro built a 55’x 55’ double barrel box culvert adjacent to the NJ Transit operating rail, with said box culver being subsequently installed into the NJ Transit rail embankment- under stringent time constraints. Carbro worked closely with NJDEP, USACE and NJ Transit as two high traffic commuter rails were taken out of service. Thereafter, Carbro excavated 10,000 CY of rail embankment, installed the 900 Tn box culvert via mobile transport units, and reconstructed the rail embankment with DGA/I9 (6,700 Tons) all within 40 hours allowing return of the rail to NJ Transit ahead of schedule.
